How to Participate in the Butterfly Walk in Your Own Neighborhood

For participants who wish to create their own Butterfly Walk Experience, we invite you to walk in your own neighborhood on May 7th and 8th and bring the spirit of the Butterfly Walk to your community!

Create your own experience

When you create your own Butterfly Walk Experience in your neighborhood, choose an activity to accompany your walk! We will even have an Butterfly Walk Activity Card that your children and family can complete as you walk to honor and remember kids who have battled childhood cancer.

  1. Draw with chalk along your route. Decorate the sidewalk with butterflies, pinwheels and write your team name or "CancerFree KIDS Butterfly Walk & 5k"!
  2. Decorate your front door or a tree in your yard. Traditionally, local community groups "Adopt-a-Tree" at the Butterfly Walk & 5K and decorate them with hand-made butterflies. Help us keep this tradition going by decorating your front door or a tree in your yard!
  3. Do a butterfly or pinwheel themed craft. Especially if you have young children, spend some time making butterflies and pinwheels to carry with you on your walk or run!
